A real lifetime warranty
Here's how our Y2 warranty works

Replacement Parts:

Swappable components including the antenna, glass lens cover, PIR motion sensor lens, straps, SD card, SIM card, and the black battery pack housing are covered for damage of any kind, forever. You only pay ~$5 to cover the shipping cost of the replacement part, which you install.

 

Camera/ Solar Panel Malfunction:

Instances of camera and/or solar panel malfunction due to normal wear and tear will try to be resolved remotely. This may require you to be at the camera. If we cannot resolve the issue, we'll repair your camera or replace it with a new or refurbished camera at no cost. You only pay ~$20 for round trip shipping.

 

Animal damage:

Complete destruction of the camera and/or solar panel by a bear or any other animal is covered one time for the life of the camera (and replacement). After that, we'll ask that you buy a metal security box (coming soon). You only pay ~$20 for round trip shipping.

Natural disasters:

Camera malfunction due to a natural disaster like a forest fire or hurricane will be covered one time for the life of the camera. You only pay ~$20 for round trip shipping.

 

Blue lithium-ion battery cells:

Lithium batteries naturally age and degrade over time. We use extreme-weather, commercially-available 18650 lithium-ion batteries, which come with a two-year warranty. After that, if your batteries degrade, you'll need to purchase compatible replacements from us or elsewhere.

 

Obsolescence due to cellular changes or technological advancements:

It's likely that in the distant future, mobile network operators will sunset their 4G networks. When they do, we'll offer a replacement camera that is compatible with then-available networks at no cost. At that time, you will only pay ~$5 to cover a portion of the shipping cost for your replacement camera.

 

Camera malfunction due to improper use or care of the camera is not covered.

 

Lifetime refers to the lifetime of you, the customer. As long as you are alive, this warranty will remain in effect. 

 

Requirement: Our cameras have advanced capabilities for remote monitoring and updating, which is one of the reasons we're able to offer the industry's only lifetime warranty. In order for us to properly monitor and update a camera's health and systems, we ask that your camera maintain a data plan and connection for at least three collective months per year.  

 

Cameras on the Outfitter Plan have additional benefits:

  • We cover all of the above-mentioned shipping costs for warranty items.

  • Cameras on the Outfitter Plan are eligible for advanced exchange. Our normal process for resolving issues is 1) remote troubleshooting; 2) troubleshooting over the phone with the customer at the camera; 3) the customer ships the camera to us for repair or replacement. We recognize that for some people, step 2 is inconvenient because their camera might be located far from their home. Therefore, cameras on Outfitter Plans can get a free replacement shipped to them prior to visiting their camera. Then when they visit their camera, we will initially work with them to troubleshoot their original camera over the phone. If that doesn't work, they can immediately swap in their replacement to ensure that they have a functional camera up and running before heading back home. 

  • Replacement battery cells are covered free for life for cameras on the Outfitter Plan.

  • To receive the Outfitter Plan benefits listed above, the camera must have been active on the Outfitter Plan for the 120 days immediately preceding the claim.
